Closing The Gap: Recovery

This might be the most important session of my week, and it isn't even training. Recovery boots on, and I mean that seriously — as the volume's gone up, recovery has become just as important as the sessions themselves.

What I'm actually paying attention to

Sleep. Nutrition. Hydration. Sports massage. Recovery boots. Taking the easy days actually easy instead of quietly turning them into medium days. None of it's complicated, it just requires taking it as seriously as the swim, bike, or run session next to it on the calendar.

Because the goal was never just to train hard. It's to recover well enough to train hard again tomorrow. That's the whole point most people miss — you don't actually improve during the workout, you improve because you recover from it.

That's another gap I'm trying to close. And from what I've seen, the people who recover best are usually the ones who end up performing best too.
