The Kona Dream Project
A journey from doing it alone to building a crew, chasing limits, and seeing what’s truly possible - one session, one race, one dream at a time.
1. The Spark
It didn’t start with a race. It started with a question:
“What if I gave everything I had to see how far I could go?”
I’ve always had that drive to push limits - to see where the edge really is. But at some point, I wanted more than routine, more than comfort. I wanted a new kind of challenge - something that demanded everything from me, physically and mentally.
Triathlon became that test. I started out completely on my own - no coach, no team, just curiosity and determination. It was about rediscovering focus, feeling alive again, and seeing what was possible if I stopped holding back.
The first finish line wasn’t about speed or medals. It was about proving that I could take on something impossible and not break. That moment - crossing the line, drained but electric - lit a fire I couldn’t put out.

2. The Turning Point
Dreams don’t move in straight lines. There were burnout days, injuries, frustration, and moments where I questioned everything. Life got louder, and finding balance became its own endurance test.
Eventually, I realised I was done with “good enough.” I wanted more - not more comfort, but more meaning. I didn’t just want to train. I wanted to transform.
That’s when The Kona Dream Project began - my commitment to chase one of the hardest goals in endurance sport: qualifying for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. It wasn’t about running away from anything - it was about running toward something. A version of myself I hadn’t met yet.

3. The Journey
The Kona Dream Project isn’t just about training - it’s about transformation. It’s double training days, long rides in the rain, sessions that test your limits, and quiet moments of doubt that you learn to outlast. It’s learning that progress doesn’t always feel like winning - sometimes it’s just turning up when no one’s watching.
For a long time, I did it alone. But eventually, I learned that no one reaches their potential in isolation. To go further, I needed to surround myself with the right people - coaches, training partners, and friends who share the same obsession with progress.
That’s when I came across Andy Brodziak’s YouTube channel - a mix of triathlon insights, mindset lessons, and honest stories from years of coaching athletes at every level. I didn’t know it yet, but that click would change everything.
One day, Andy announced something bold: he was going to coach a single athlete - personally, fully, and publicly - all the way to the Ironman World Championships in Kona. He called it the Kona Dream Project.
I remember sitting with the idea for days. Could I really do it? Was I ready for that kind of commitment? It wasn’t just a coaching offer; it was a call to go all in. Eventually, I hit “apply” - and after a few intense interviews, I got the message that still gives me chills: I’d been chosen.
Since then, Andy and I have worked side by side - through every training block, lab test, race, and setback. He’s not just my coach; he’s been a mentor in all the details that matter: nutrition, recovery, mindset, health, and even life balance. Together, we’ve built a system that’s more than training - it’s transformation.
Now, I’m part of a crew that lifts me higher, pushes me harder, and reminds me why this matters. The journey is still mine - but it’s better shared.

4. The Purpose
Kona is the goal, but it’s not the full story. This project is about more than one finish line - it’s about discovering what’s possible when you go all in on yourself.
It’s about turning effort into purpose, pain into growth, and fear into fuel. It’s about the discipline to show up, the humility to learn, and the courage to keep going when everything in you says stop.
I’m not chasing perfection. I’m chasing potential - and the belief that anyone, with enough consistency and heart, can change the course of their life.

5. The Invitation
This story is still being written. Every race, every session, every small victory moves me closer - not just to Kona, but to who I’m becoming along the way.
If you’re chasing your own version of impossible, I hope this journey shows what can happen when you stop waiting for the right time and start now.
