Kona Standard reference table & how roll-down works

2027 qualifying cycle. The Kona Standard is the average finish time of the top 20% of IRONMAN World Championship finishers per age group and gender, over the last 5 editions, expressed as a ratio to the fastest group (M30-34 / W30-34). Multiply a finisher's time by their group's factor to get an age-graded time comparable across every age group.

Each age group's winner (men & women) is offered an Automatic Qualifying Slot - rolling to 2nd, then 3rd place in that same age group if declined.
Everyone else's finish time is multiplied by their Kona Standard factor to produce an age-graded time.
Athletes are ranked within their gender by age-graded time, fastest first - irrespective of age.
Performance Pool slots (split by gender field size) roll down that ranked list, first-to-accept, until every slot is filled.
