Writing 👨‍💻

I’m going to try to write a lot this year. I won’t commit to every day but will write my thoughts down, what I’ve achieved that day, what I’ve felt, what I’m up to.

Let’s see how long this lasts.


What shall I write?

Some ideas:

  1. Goal setting and tracking, habit building.
  2. Productivity and time management.
  3. Fitness - running and endurance challenges.
  4. Travel - planning and doing.
  5. Website and web application development (my real job).
  6. Cooking & baking healthy food.
  7. Investing & financial goals management.

I’m good at goal setting and achieving, good at organisation and productivity, and helping others be more productive.

I’m physically very fit and athletic, I constantly push myself through physical challenges. That could be a good one to write about.

I love to travel - when possible. I’ve spent a bit of the last year planning new trips, expeditions, and activities. Articles on how to plan trips and example itineraries might be fun.

I’ve spent a lot of time learning about new software development tech recently, in and outside my job - it could help some people if I write about my experiences. I’m working on a couple of side projects using technology new to me, so it might be worth writing up my findings.

I’ve got into baking and cooking a lot more in the last year. I’m working on a secret side project to do with this though - so maybe I won”t blog about it.

Investment is something that I’ve been learning about and applying for the last 2 years. I’d be writing about my learning experiences.


I’ll go with the first 3 from that list. I get asked quite a lot about how I am so productive and driven. If I can distil some of what I think and the techniques I use on a daily basis, perhaps it’ll help others. I’ll throw a bit of 4 and 5 in too.

In fact, I’ll just write about what I feel like writing about. It’ll be fun. A mixed bag. Ramblings. Nonsense. Fun!
