The Decision

The Decision

Japan Build · June 14, 2026

It's been a while since my last race. And for a while, I genuinely wasn't sure what was coming next.

The last few weeks have been about getting back into training, digging into the data, and testing everything - swim CSS, a bike fit, run lab testing, physio, a strength assessment. Trying to work out what actually needs to change if I want to become a better athlete. Then hours picking apart the results, some very nerdy conversations with my coach, and slowly building a plan.

The decision

In 13 weeks' time, I'll be standing on a start line in Japan, racing Ironman Japan South Hokkaido. It's the furthest away I've ever raced, to see what happens when I push myself the furthest I ever have.

The goal isn't just to finish. It's to find out what's possible when I actually commit to something fully - not half-in, not managing expectations, all in.

We've identified the gaps. We've built the plan. Now it's time to execute. Training starts now.
